Death By Prescription Drugs

The media directs it's attention to many subjects. However, it fails at doing so in the case of prescription drug deaths. The startling fact that every year in the U.S. alone 160,000 people die from this should have caught their attention by now. Over the past Five years prescription drug deaths have increased a shocking 68%. What does this say about our politicians, drug companies, doctors, and country as a whole? Death by prescription drugs is the second leading unintentional cause of death in the United States. Our country is spending billions on a war that in my opinion is unnecessary. What are we doing to fix our broken and medicated nation? Are we doing anything at all, or is the fact that making billions, even trillions of dollars is more important than the health and well being of our people, of us?

Like you I have started blogging but actually I spend much more time reading than writing. Thank you for the invite to read your blog Keep writing.
I think people have become sheep and don't even bother to ask a doctor about side affects or interactions with other drugs. Maybe a person should ask before putting a pill in there mouth. Somewhere along the line you have to take responsibility for your own well being. I don't think it is up to the government to control anymore of my life
